Updating ps3 with storage media

If you cannot download the software update on your PS4 directly, there is a way to do it with a USB key.

Go to the Play Station Blog and download the update file to your PC.

Whilst I'll do this if you bafoons can't think of something other than "it's impossible soz" I'd much rather a quicker way to do this other than taking my PC apart or formatting a laptop to emulate a USB Drive in order to update a PS3. Of course it might just be something incredibly simple. It's the middle of the night and I want to update my damn PS3 to play .

I'll go over the steps involved in replacing the stock hard drive in a Playstation 3 with a larger one.

Sony pulled PS3 update 4.45 when it was found to brick some users' consoles.

Today marks the launch of version 4.46, which allows users to hide Trophy notifications and doesn't make your console inoperable.

Budget gaming PC -------------------- Intel E7200 2.53ghz Corsair H50 Liquid Cooling System XFX Radeon HD 5770 1gb Corsair 950w PSU Seagate Barricuda 500gb 7200rpm sata 3.0gb/s ASUS P5P43TD/USB3 4 GB of G.

-But, put the HD into a computer and save the files on it (game files/saves) into some USB drives, and format it, then put it into a PS3 and let it take care of the problem... My problem is that i cannot even get to the xmb on the ps3 with my 250g hard drive, all i get is a big long message that basically says the ps3 can't install cuz of missmatched software versions yet i can't load them off of the usb drive to update the damn thing. The days of having a slot-in memory cartridge are far gone – a few hundred gigabytes would be modest by today’s standards. Luckily, Sony made it really easy and user-serviceable to upgrade the internal storage drive – unlike Microsoft, who locked it down and demanded you buy first-party approved models only.Upgrading your PS3 drive will not void the warranty. And if you’re a Play Station Plus subscriber, you have gigabytes of new games literally thrown at you every month. On environmental grounds, I couldn’t be happier about the move to digital – but it means local storage needs are growing rapidly.
